Areas of interest
Hydrogeology, wetland hydrology, reclamation, contaminant and mining hydrogeology
pecializes in analyzing groundwater flow and contaminant transport at a range of temporal and spatial scales, with emphasis on interactions between near-surface (geologic) and surface (wetland and forestland) environments, plus the biosphere and atmosphere. Experience writing numerical codes, analyzing field data, and developing conceptual models, and applying numerical models to non-linear hydrogeological problems. Applications include surface water/groundwater interactions, water supply and resource evaluation, mine reclamation, density-dependent transport and migration of contaminants, including multi-phase flow and dissolution of oily liquids, in the subsurface. Focusses on all aspects of groundwater at mines, including tailings impoundments and dams, at BGC.
