Learning Technology and Media Support
Are you teaching an online (OL) or blended (BL) course or interested in using technology tools to enhance student engagement in your in-person course? A variety of services are available to instructors through the Learning and Teaching Technology division of the Centre for Educational Excellence. Services are organized within two categories and can be accessed as indicated below.

Educational Media Development
Looking to set up a podcast for your course? Need some assistance designing graphics or getting started with H5P? Specialists within the Centre for Educational Excellence are available to assist you with a variety of educational media design, development and production-related services. We also offer consultations, training and access to our media studio.

Course Introduction Videos
We can also help you help your students to get to know more about your course with a thoughtfully created an introduction video.
Course introduction videos are an effective way to communicate key components of your syllabus, share your expectations and establish a sense of connection with your students. Canvas & Other Tech Tool Support
Technology and media specialists in the Centre for Educational Excellence can support you in using the following educational tools/technologies to enhance teaching and learning in your courses.
Educational technology/media development requests typically require a minimum lead time of 3-4 months.
- Canvas learning management system (LMS)
- Crowdmark online collaborative grading platform
- Student response systems, a great tool for student engagement
- Turnitin, an online service for checking the originality of student papers
- H5P, an open source tool for creating interactive and engaging online content
- CEEpoll tool, a custom built tool for asynchronous polling in online and blended courses
- Zoom, a video-conferencing tool that can be used to support teaching in online & blended classes
- Mediasite, a streaming video service for lecture recordings
