Cacophony (graphic novel)
By: Maggie Chang
Course: IAT 100 Digital Image Design
Description:
This comic was created for IAT 100 using Procreate. This was my first time creating a comic and I discovered how to strategically format panels and images to captivate readers effectively. I explored the deliberate use of colours and framing to create more impactful imagery, increasing audience anticipation leading up to the comic's finale.
The project required selecting a song and developing a comic inspired by its lyrics. I decided to visually interpret Joni Mitchell's "Twist" (1974). I decided to move away from the conventional childhood education perspective often associated with the song, and chose a unique narrative direction for my comic instead. You can discover the story for yourself when you read my comic!
