Susan's biography

Susan Clements-Vivian joined the School of Interactive Arts and Technology (SIAT) as a Lecturer in 2002 and was promoted to University Lecturer in 2021.  Throughout this time, she has taught a range of courses within SIAT and is known for her contribution to the media arts concentration.  Her classes include: IAT 100 Digital Image Design, IAT 102 Introduction to Graphic Design, and IAT 110 Visual Communication Design, IAT 202 New Media Images, IAT 208 Drawing as Inquiry, IAT 344 Moving Images, and IAT 313 Narrative and New Media. Her research areas are visual thinking, drawing as a discursive practice, and participatory sketching. She is the co-founder and director of the Sketching In Practice Symposium (SKiP), an interdisciplinary symposium for practitioners who think through drawing.
