SIAT Showcases
SIAT end-of-term showcases are back! Find out about the showcases below and join us to see some of the interesting and diverse projects created by SIAT students throughout the Spring 2022 semester.
Students are also encouraged to submit their project to the Digital Showcase where projects will be highlighted on our online showcase page: Digital Showcase submission form.
Showcase schedule
TUESDAY, APRIL 5TH
IAT 312 Foundations of Game Design
Location: SRYC 3250 or on Zoom
Time: 2:30-4:20pm
At the IAT 312 students will demo their digital board games. Five student teams in Foundations of Game Design (IAT 312) were tasked to reflect on topics that they care deeply about that could help create a better world, and are worth designing a purposeful (online) boardgame about.
Students tackled diverse topics including internet oversharing, competing priorities, ecosystem balance, supply chains for international aid, and financial insecurity.

To participate in our showcase, join us at 2:30 pm Pacific Time in-person at SFU’s Surrey Campus, room 3250 or online by using this Zoom link. Note that the showcase will be recorded.
Wednesday, April 6th
IAT 499 Graduation Project
Location: SRYC 3140
Time: 5:00-7:00pm

Students from IAT 499 Graduation Project will be showcasing their final projects featuring video trailers (<1min each) for each project, followed by a chance to experience the projects in VR and talk to the project creators.
Thursday, April 7th
IAT 222 Interactive Arts
Location: SRYC Mezzanine, SRYC 2990, SRYC 2995
Time: 12:00-2:00pm
Students will be presenting a variety of interactive experiences and art projects.
Friday, April 8th
IAT 267 Introduction to Technological Systems
Location: SRYE Atrium (new Sustainable Engineering Building)
Time: 10:30am-1:30pm
Students will present their final hardware projects (electronic) demos. Project themes include but are not limited to smart homes, health monitoring, educational toys, interactive sculptures, and robotics.
Tuesday, April 12th
IAT 445 Immersive Environments
Location: SRYC 3140
Time: In-person VR showcase from 2:00-4:00pm, followed by live-streamed online showcase from 4:30-6:30pm

From 2-4pm, students from IAT 445 Immersive Environments will be presenting their final VR projects, featuring video trailers for each projects, and team interviews with the VR designers.
The second part (starting at 4:30) will be live-streamed on Zoom (link following soon) and will be accessible to everyone with an internet connection.
IAT 202 New Media Images
Location: SRYE 1002 (new Sustainable Engineering Building)
Time: 4:00-6:30pm
The IAT 202 showcase will be a screening of short films created by students. Awards will be presented after the screening and the audience will have the opportunity to vote for the People's Choice Award!
