Each year, the GPDN hosts a virtual career symposium for Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Fellows aimed at professional development and career exploration. Presentations by GPDN members and invited experts cover topics including inspirational keynotes, career self-assessments, resumes, informational interviews, and networking.

The Symposium will feature a keynote address by Dr. Joe Kim, a cognitive psychologist from McMaster University, who will present on "The psychology of focusing on what matters". The keynote will be followed by a session on values from Lorna MacEachern, McGill University.
