" SFU is the epicenter of innovation for hydrogen and fuel cell technology. SFU is providing me with the tools that is helping me expand the paradigm of knowledge in the cleantech space."
Postdoctoral Fellow Profile: Biswajit De
School of Mecatronics System Engineering Postdoctoral Fellow in the Faculty of Applied Sciences
I completed my PhD in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT) Delhi, India. I am passionate about clean technologies and and my research is focused to reduce the carbon footprint stemming from human activities. I love trekking and aerial photography.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO SFU?
SFU is the epicenter of innovation for hydrogen and fuel cell technology. SFU is providing me with the tools that is helping me expand the paradigm of knowledge in the cleantech space.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RESEARCH OR YOUR PROGRAM TO A FAMILY MEMBER?
My research improves the efficiency of the electrolyzer for green hydrogen production. The efficiency improvement is realized by apprehending the degradation mechanism using X-ray computed tomography based visualization of the electrolyzer's internal components.
WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT SFU?
My research outcomes will directly impact the hydrogen economy in Canada and aligns perfectly with the Canadian Hydrogen Strategy.
