Marmon Herrington 796 sits at the Westinghouse factory in Pittsburgh, apparently as a demonstrator. Note the short length of the wires. Pittsburgh never did go for trolleybuses despite two different demonstrations. Date and photographer unknown.
Flyer E800 5324 pulling out from Fremont onto Market Street on Route 6. Meanwhile a trash fire (there was a lot of wood and creosote left over from BART construction days) on the tracks in the Bart tunnel is sending out black clouds of smoke. Service on BART and Muni LRVs was suspended at 9:30 a.m. The F-line and trolleybus lines were also suspended. Muni service returned at 11:10 a.m. BART resumed later. Info submitted by Peter Ehrlich. Flyer E800 5300 freshly repainted. "At long last, Flyer 5300 finally received it's first repaint ever. As far as I can tell it was repainted from the roof gutter(orange line down on the sides, and top to bottom on both ends. The MUNI worm however is still the original factory painted one. I think they taped over the worm while the rest of the bus was being painted for whatever reason." Photo and comment by Matt Lee. I've been told that Muni is not going to preserve this one. The E800s are on their last days. 10 MR 2006.

Unidentified Muni car exiting the West Portal of the Twin Peaks Tunnel. Note that the route marker "A" is displayed, since the car is going to the ocean, it should be "L". Route "A" was discontinued in 1931 when the Market Street Railroad's route 31 was inaugurated. The streetcar was on a fan trip. Photo by Walter Rice. JU 1941.
