A little nostalgia: 24th Ave. looking west. The MSR 11 Hoffman streetcar was still operating. Unfortunately, Muni never saw fit to convert this line to trolleybuses when the other Mission lines (9, 12, 14) were converted. This was due to low patronage. Later, route 11 was replaced with a crosstown line. The Noe theater was one of the grand SF neighborhood theatres. Photographer unknown, Circa 1945-1949.

New Flyer 7056, ETI 5404, and ETI 5514 lined up at the loop serving routes 31 and 5, just a block away from the Pacific Ocean. The middle trolley is incorrectly signed. The 41 does not terminate here. Perhaps, someone was placing with the gizmo that changes signs. Photo by Matt Lee. 25 JN 04.

The power is out on the outside track. All the trolleys on Market St. must use the inside track. When constructed, the inside and the outside tracks were tied into separate circuits in the event of such an emergency. The first trolley is a Flyer, of which there are roughly a dozen left.
