Part A: I calculated the ratios of some factors instead of the exact
values since the population in Vancouver area is outnumbered and by comparison
the Vancouver area would be always most likely to exhibit the highest
number. Therefore, I think it is unfair to use the exact values.
The list of factors that I calculated: the ratio Pop of Black, South Asian,
Chinese, Southeast Asia, Filipino, Arab/West Asian, Latin American, Aboriginal,
age between 20-39, People whose education are up to grade15, People who
spend more than 30% of income on rent, People who spend more than 30%
of income on housing, People who worked full time full year and part year
or part time, and People who obtain EI.
Part B:
I calculated the ratio on 6 factors.
Factors: alcohol related deaths in 1996 and 2001
Drug induced deaths in 1996 and 2001
The number of suicide in 1996 and 2001
I also calculated the infant mortality rate by a formula.
1000 * (the number of infant deaths / the number of live births)
In part A and B, all calculations are done by the arcview and transferred
to Idrisi.
