Biography
Margaret Schmidt is a soil scientist who leads the Soil Science Lab at SFU since 1992. Her current research focuses on modelling and mapping of soil types and soil properties for the purpose of sustainable soil management. She has a particular interest in modelling carbon stocks as they relate to carbon sequestration, and has further interests in soil rehabilitation and nutrient cycling in forest environments.
