CERi operates with a thriving network of community engagement at SFU who strive to advance principles of community-engaged research, teaching and creative activity.

Community Scholars Program

The Community Scholars Program provides access to 20,000 journal titles and e-books to 500 Community Scholars -- staff of charities and non-profits in the University's community who are interested in accessing the latest research and knowledge to enhance their practice. Community Scholars work in a variety of sectors including social and legal services, the arts, human rights and social justice, housing, physical and mental health, sustainability and conservation.

Lifelong Learning

SFU's Livelong Learning has been delivering educational programs and services to adults in Canada and beyond for over 45 years. Their unit includes Continuing Studiesdegree completion programs and community engagement initiatives. Their mandate is to make education more widely available; the majority of our programs feature flexible scheduling and course delivery. 

Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue

SFU’s Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue creates real-world impact for society’s most pressing challenges by using dialogue and engagement to co-create solutions, exchange knowledge, support community-engaged learning, and to build the capacity of others in the knowledge and practice of dialogue.

Pacific Water Research Centre

The vision of the Faculty of Environment's Pacific Water Research Centre (PWRC) is to promote and mobilize research that addresses water issues on multiple scales ranging from local communities to national to global. PWRC connects critical findings from science and social science research with local knowledge.

Public Square

SFU Public Square, a signature initiative designed to spark, nurture and restore community connections, establishes Simon Fraser University as the go-to convener of serious and productive conversations about issues of public concern.

Radius

RADIUS is a social innovation hub based out of the Beedie School of Business, SFU, and located in the heart of Vancouver at the Charles Chang Innovation Centre.

Woodward’s Cultural & Community Programs

SFU Woodward’s Cultural & Community Programs (SFUW) vision is to enable and promote creativity and leading edge practices in the contemporary arts as well as public community discourse.

Vancity Office of Community Engagement

SFU’s Vancity Office of Community Engagement supports creative engagement, knowledge democracy and public programming in the areas of 1) arts, culture and community 2) social and environmental justice and 3) urban issues, through public talks, dialogues, workshops, screenings, performances, community partnerships and community-engaged research.
