SF-islais1 The Islais drawbridge built for the new lrt T route. This is the first drawbridge for streetcars or light rail built in many years. The 4th St. bridge shown in earlier photos is an older bridge but was fitted with rails. The only other one in N. America is in Portland. Photo by R. C. DeArmond. 4 FE 2007.

SF-Islais2 ETI 5421 at the terminus of route 24 on Third St. The inbound tracks of the T-line can be seen in the lower left hand Corner. Photo by R. C. DeArmond. 4 FE 2007.

SF-OHx1 The overhead crossing of route 24 and the T-line at Palou St. and Third St. This is a very clean crossing — much better than the earlier trolleybus-LRV crossings in SF and in Edmonton. However, it won't work for Seattle and the Sound Transit wanted crossings — Metro is 750 volts and ST will be 1500. However, it might be the same type for Metro's trolleybus and streetcar crossings soon to be installed. Photo by R. C. DeArmond. 4 FE 2007.

SF-5403-1529A ETI 5403 at the Third St. terminus posing with Breda 1529A/B. The Fates don't always arrange for the sun to be in the right place for the right photo. The loop is one way on Third. Trying to get a desirable photo of an LRV and ETI in the other direction is impossible. Photo by R. C. DeArmond. 4 FE 2007.

SF-776-12-13 Boeing 1212 and 1213 operating as a train up Market St. This is the only time that a train of Boeing cars ever operated on Market rather than underneath it, although car 1213 operated solo on Market Street several times in the 1980s (starting with the first Trolley Festival in 1983). Ahead of the Boeing cars is Marmon Herrington 776. This is the only known time that the Boeings and MHs operated together. The last MH was retired in 1977 and the Boeings arrived in 1979.
