ETI 7121 sporting the new paint scheme at night. The gray appears to some to be more like silver. Taken at Stockton and Green Sts. Photo by Matt Lee. 5 DE 2004.
ETI 7101 climbing up Sacramento St. at Powell St. Assigned to route 30, the trolley was rerouted over Sacramento to Van Ness St. to its regular route. Artics are not assigned to route 1, which normally operates over the hill. Hence, this is a valuable photo. The reroute was caused by some parade. Photo by Matt Lee. 9 OC 2005.

ETI 5473 on 16th St. crossing Bryant St. on the 22 Fillmore. The buildings behind the trolley existed back in 1948 see the photo below. The trees and traffic signals weren't there then. The heavy feeder wires seen below lasted well into the trolleybus era. They were put underground in the 80s, I believe. Photo by "runinundrh2o". Date unknown, but probably 2004 or 2005.
Ex-MSR Comfort Car 864 on the last day of service pm 31 JL 1948 at Bryant and 16th. See above photo. On 16 JA 1949 Marmon-Herringtons started service on the 22. The trolleybus line was continued down the hill via Steiner St. and Union back to Fillmore to the Bay. The 22 streetcar line terminated on top of the hill. A counterbalance carried a shuttle line up and down the hill to the Bay because of the steppness of the hill. I don't know when the counter-balance line stopped. The 22 went the first ex-MSR rail line to be converted to trolleys. 16th and Bryant is near Potrero Garage which the 22 served. This cross-town line made it possible to start converting other ex-MSR lines because it passed near Potrero. The 5, 6, 7, 21 and 8 were converted in the summer of 1949. Photo by Art Lloyd.
ETIs 5488 and 5496 at Presidio Garage. Somehow, the poles on 5496 got bent. New poles from it. Photo by Robert Parks. DE 2005.
ETI 7125 on Union St at Jones on the 45 Union/Stockton. Artics were not regurarly assigned to the 45 initially. The artic was assigned to this run because there were several consecutively missed runs. Photo by Matt Lee, who happened to catch this photo. Now, all runs are covered by artics. 25 JN 05.
New Flyer 7057 signed up for route 90 OWL - Van Ness. Slightly more than half of this route is under wire, except for the 9 San Jose portion of this route. If the 9 ever gets electrified, then we shall see this route in electric operation. The New Flyers have cloth roll signs, which indicates that the planners had this route in mind when NFIs were ordered. Photo by Matt Lee. 21 NO 05.
