Paleo-ice sheet hydrology

Structure, operation and evolution of meltwater drainage systems of past ice sheets

Meltwater drainage and ice dynamics are linked, thus knowledge of ice sheet plumbing systems is essential to constrain or evaluate numerical ice sheet models. Much of our research to date has focused on the plumbing systems of the MIS 2 Laurentide and Cordilleran ice sheets. A selection of our more recent work in this area has focused on the following topics:

4) Evidence for, and evolution of, subglacial lakes under the Cordilleran ice sheet [Lesemann and Brennand 2009; Lesemann and Brennand 2007]
