Note: The Italian Studies Minor has direct entry; Students in good academic standing can be admitted without any prerequisites.

Program Requirements: 12 lower division units 15 upper division units SFU CGPA of at least 2.00

Lower Division ITAL Requirements ITAL 100 - Introductory Italian I (3) ITAL 110 - Introductory Italian II (3) ITAL 200 - Intermediate Italian I (3) ITAL 210 - Intermediate Italian II (3)

The above course must be completed in sequence.

Upper Division ITAL Requirements ITAL 300 - Advanced Italian: Language and Culture (3) ITAL 400 - Topics in Italian Literature (4)

Elective Requirements: ENGL 377 - Field School* (4) ENGL 378 - Field School* (4) HUM 311 - Italian Renaissance Humanism (4) HUM 312W - Renaissance Studies* (4) HIST 402 - Renaissance Italy (4) HIST 433W - Italian Films, Italian Histories (4) HIST 445 - Problems in Modern Italian History (4)

And two of the above courses:

*When the topic, issue, or personality is from the Italian Renaissance.

Note: With prior permission form the departmental advisor (wlladv@sfu.ca), students may count other Italian-related courses which do not appear on on this list towards their elective requirements.
