Fall Protection
Fall Protection is a critical aspect of SFU's safety program, designed to prevent accidents and injuries associated with falls from height. To ensure a safe working environment, SFU requires all contractors performing work on campus to adhere to regulatory requirements for working at heights.
Fall Protection involves a range of measures designed to prevent fall s from heights or to minimize injury in the event of a fall. This includes, but not limited to, physical barriers, fall protection systems training and other preventative strategies.
Required Documentation:
- Fall Protection Program
- Any contractor who will be using some sort of Fall Protection System on campus must have a valid Fall Protection Program that at a minimum meets WorkSafeBC - Part 11.
- Fall Protection Plan
- A requirement from WorkSafeBC, this is a detail site specific plan that addresses where the fall hazards are located, how people and workers are protected and what to do in the event of an emergenccy that rescue is required.
