Description: This project aims to expand the scope and accessibility of the Eighteenth-century Media Online (EMO) site, which was originally designed to house printed ephemera and non-print media produced from 1688 to 1815. Building on the work from a previous OER Grant, this new project will make the EMO database relevant to a larger audience by increasing the range of included materials and by promoting the site via social media. In addition, the project will see the development of video tutorials designed to make the material submission process as straightforward and accessible as possible. The expanded database will also be modified for use by colleagues associated with the Centre for Print and Media Studies research cluster to which I belong (involving colleagues from History, Communications, SIAT, and Contemporary Arts).

Knowledge sharing: I intend to share the expanded site with colleagues in the Department of English and in the Centre for the Study of Print and Media Culture as well as with colleagues who attend the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies conference. With my RA, I presented the EMO site at the “Open Education: Transforming Teaching and Learning” symposium on May 24, 2018, and I welcome further opportunities to present my experiences.
