March 06, 2025
Thuy Do

Thuy Do, who successfully defended her PhD in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies at Simon Fraser University (SFU) recently, is receiving accolades for her research on rural women workers in Vietnam.

The Vietnamese Studies Group (VSG) committee selected Do’s paper as an honourable mention for the Graduate Student Paper Prize.

Do’s award-winning paper is titled “Vietnam’s Economic Development: The Making, Remaking, and Unmaking — the Experience of Rural Women Workers.”

The Vietnam Studies Group (VSG) is a sub-committee of the Southeast Asia Council of the Association for Asian Studies, the primary professional organization for scholars of Asian Studies. The competition encourages the direct involvement of graduate students in the growth of Vietnamese studies and supports their professional development.

Congratulations, Dr. Do!
