Carman Fung recognized by the Australian Women’s and Gender Studies Association

Carman Fung, a lecturer at Simon Fraser University’s (SFU) Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies (GSWS), has received a commendation from the Australian Women’s and Gender Studies Association (AWGSA) PhD Award.

The AWGSA PhD Award is presented every two years in recognition of an outstanding doctoral thesis, completed at an Australian university, that engages with feminist paradigms. Carman Fung has been highly commended for her thesis, Sketching out the tomboy: Contemporary conceptualisations of the tomboy identity in lesbian communities in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, which she completed at the University of Melbourne.
