We loved how Lamya made us feel welcomed in her passenger seat as she journeyed through self-discovery. The author expertly weaves Islamic theology alongside other elements of her identity as she narrates her life experiences. We agreed that Lamya excellently challenges the norm by being so gutsy in her finding similarities between her life as a queer migrant and the sacred Surahs in the Quran. Whilst there was a debate in  whether she deliberately avoided speaking, writing sex in its carnal sense due to her sexuality i.e, whether asexual or whether it was a tactical move to respect the purity of the prophets she wrote about, we thought it was a genius move.
