This time around, everyone liked the book, a rare thing for feminist book club! We appreciated the short length as it allowed us to touch on many events and themes without feeling like we didn't discuss the majority of the book. Some of the themes we touched on were female unpaid labor, capitalism and loneliness in a capitalist society, the documentation of pregnancy, and the loss of selfhood due to motherhood. We had an extensive discussion on whether faking a pregnancy for paternal leave could be done and how (we would love to see it, as a social experiment, of course).
