GSWS Feminist Book Club - October 2022

The Power is turning the world (and therefore who has power) upside down. We appreciated the concept of the book more than the actual story itself. Some of us thought it was too binary a way of looking at power and would have appreciated a new take on it. We all seemed to agree that the concept of the book-within-a-book was especially clever though, so the general consensus landed on a 2.5-3 / 5. GSWS Feminist Book Club is hard to please, so we’ll see if our next book “Under the Udala Trees” by Chinelo Okparanta has more luck with impressing us.
