Under the Udala Trees

There was a general consensus that we all loved Under the Udala Trees. We all agreed that although Chinelo Okparanta spacially situated her characters in the Eastern part of Nigeria, we could all relate to some of the themes of the story. She expertly takes us on this journey through Ijeoma's eyes as she navigates War time Biafra, sexuality, religion and familial/cultural obligations. This book unearthed varying intense emotions from fear to pity and suffocation.
