"I work with preschool children and adults near a forested area where we learn to listen to trees, streams and creatures as we walk and play along the trails."
Kate McCabe
Education doctoral student in the Faculty of Education
I work with preschool children and adults near a forested area where we learn to listen to trees, streams and creatures as we walk and play along the trails.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO SFU?
I chose SFU because of teachers who are open to a variety of ways of doing research.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RESEARCH OR YOUR PROGRAM TO A FAMILY MEMBER?
My research begins with the assumption that a cancer diagnosis enlivens the question of what it means to live well with the Earth and its multi-dimensional beings.
WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT SFU?
I am enjoying being engaged in joyful and insightful conversation as I near the end of my research at SFU.
HAVE YOU BEEN THE RECIPIENT OF ANY MAJOR OR DONOR-FUNDED AWARDS? IF SO, PLEASE TELL US WHICH ONES AND A LITTLE ABOUT HOW THE AWARDS HAVE IMPACTED YOUR STUDIES AND/OR RESEARCH.
I am pleased to be the recipient of the Spring 2021 EdD Fellowship. The award allowed me to take time to write amid the challenges that COVID19 presented in 2020 and 2021.
