The EnvironMentors program is a great way to get involved in our Faculty. EnvironMentors make new incoming students feel welcome, share tips with them on how to be successful, and ease their anxiety while transitioning to university life.
HOW IT WORKS:
You will attend a short orientation, meet other mentors, and be provided with all the tools you need — we want this to be a fun and easy experience for you!
Once you are matched with a few students who are starting this fall, you will send them a monthly email with tips and resources (we will provide a template for you to edit). We will also work with you to plan one or two social events (i.e. pizza socials) to help build a sense of community.
WHAT WILL YOU GET?
You will gain leadership skills, build communication skills, make new friends, and get recognition on your Co-Curricular Record (CCR). This is a great opportunity to give back to the SFU community and be part of a fun, engaged team of current students.
WANT TO DO MORE?
If you would like to take your involvement in the Faculty further, you can also join the Student Leadership Team! We organize the EnvironMentors program, host events for students in the Faculty, and plan Fall FROSH. Sound fun? Email our team to let us know you're interested.
