Archaeology ranked 1st in Canada for QS Rankings on citations per paper and H-Index citations
Archaeology does it again! Congratulations for ranking 1st in Canada and 3rd in North America for QS Rankings on citations per paper and H-Index citations outperforming Stanford, Yale and Princeton. This speaks highly to the calibre of research and publications of our faculty and scholars. Congratulations!
Every year, QS World University Rankings (https://www.topuniversities.com) compares the world’s top universities and explores them by region and subject. Each school is scored on four criteria including academic reputation, employer reputation, citations per paper and h-index citations*. The first two criteria are evaluated on polls and the last two criteria are evaluated on publication output by scholars.
For overall score, the department ranked 42nd in the world, 17th in North America and 2nd in Canada.
*An author-level metric that measures both the productivity and citation impact of the publications of a scholar. The index is based on the set of the scholar’s most cited papers and the number of citations that they have received in other publications.
