Immigration
Did you know that SFU has a team of Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants who provide assistance to departments in hiring and inviting foreign nationals to the university?
Our expertise encompasses multiple areas: Faculty and Visiting Scholars (Faculty Relations), International Students (International Services for Students), and Postdoctoral Fellows (HR Research People Team) and Visiting Research Students (Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies).
What we do?
We provide expert immigration counsel to the SFU community on the interpretation of the Immigration Act and its regulations pertaining to the recruitment and retention of international employees and students.
We consult and advise international employees and students coming to SFU on matters related to immigration processes in order to facilitate their smooth transition to Canada.
As regulations and policies change at the federal level, our team of Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCIC) provides leadership by assessing, communicating and advising on possible impacts to the SFU community.
Immigration Portal
We have created the SFU Immigration Portal to assist SFU departments who invite or hire foreign nationals as well as to provide immigration information for international workers coming to SFU.
The portal is our gateway to informing the community of appropriate ‘step-by-step’ processes they must follow to ensure the best possible immigration outcome.
As the website is a work in progress, we would appreciate any feedback you can provide on it’s utility, areas of improvement, etc. Your comments and suggestions can be shared via email at aroman@sfu.ca.
