Parents and Family Orientation [August 27th 2003]
With the transition to university, your student will face new and important decisions that will affect his or her future success. This is an exciting and scary time in the life of your student; they will look to you for guidance and support. We know that students make better decisions when they discuss their academic and campus life choices with their family and friends. By attending Parent and Family Orientation, you will learn how to make your student's transition to university life successful and participate in the excitement that makes SFU such a special place.

You will have the opportunity to:
  • Meet some of the new people who will be in your student's life.
  • Find out what resources are available on campus for your student.
  • Speak with students who attend SFU and who live in residence.
  • Take a tour and get a general view of where your student will be living and getting his/her education.
  • Share your concerns and fears with other families, friends and university personnel over coffee and treats.
We have two types of Parent and Family Orientation sessions:
  1. Orientation for Parents and Families of new students moving into Residence - August 27, 2003 at 1:00 pm in the WMX (West Mall Complex) room 3520
  2. Orientation for Parents and Families of new students living off campus - August 27, 2003 at 5:00 pm in the WMX (West Mall Complex) room 3520
