Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about this large and wonderful university... Below are answers to some of the questions that many new students have when first starting out here at SFU.

Q. Where do I get my SFU ID card?
A. Go to the General Enquiries Counter in the Registrar's office in the MBC, 3000 level.

Q. How do I get my SFU email account?
A. You can apply for your SFU email account online;  go to the SFU homepage and follow the my.sfu.ca link.

Q. How does parking work around here?
A. Go to the Parking Services website for information about the parking lottery and the parking pass open sale times.

Q. Where can I buy my books?
A. Most students buy their books at the SFU Bookstore or at Quad books, the student-run bookstore.  Both bookstores are located in MBC (Maggie Benston Centre) and both sell used books.  Custom Courseware (an instructor's selection of articles bound into one booklet) can only be bought at the SFU bookstore.

Q. Where do I pay for tuition?
A. You can pay your tuition at the Cashier's Office located on the 1000 level of the MBC (Maggie Benston Centre) or at Harbour Centre or at SFU Surrey.  Payments can also be made by postal mail, via online banking or at the Bank of Montreal.  Detailed information can be found in the current Registration Guide or the SFU Calendar.
