Timeline
An event timeline sets clear roles and responsibilities of the staff and volunteers involved in planning an event. Remember to include tasks that need to be completed both before and following the event.
In general, start planning your event three to six months before the event date. This will provide sufficient time to confirm the venue, speakers and other event logistics. However, if you don’t have three months, a well-planned event can still be organized in a shorter timeframe.
A simple event timeline or virtual event timeline can be produced in Word, Excel or Microsoft Project. Ceremonies and Events uses BlackBaud, a client management software customized for events, to generate event timelines.
