The SFU Surrey–TD Community Engagement Centre and Pacific Community Resources Society (PCRS) Newton Youth Hub are looking for people who want to help youth thrive in their educational endeavors and increase their confidence to realize their full potential.

Through the Hub, youth can access alternative education, alcohol and drug programs, youth justice services, family and youth support programs and more. A key service through the Hub includes a Homework Club, where youth (grade 7-12) can get support with their studies, and build healthy relationships with other youth, staff and volunteer mentors.

  • Working collaboratively with program staff to support youth learning needs.
  • Facilitating a safe and inclusive environment for all learners.
  • Demonstrating effective mentoring techniques such as active listening, coaching, advising, and providing feedback when working with youth.

Other benefits:

  • Experience the impact of engaging in a meaningful, community-based program.
  • Gain valuable work experience and opportunity to use your unique skills.
  • Gain co-curricular record credit.
