Empower MEdia curriculum package
Empower MEdia is a digital citizenship curriculum package designed for children in grades 5-7 with a vision to equip them with knowledge and tools to respond to the challenges of the digital world, and empower them to become responsible digital citizens. If you are an educator interested in applying digital literacy and citizenship curriculum into your classroom or after-school program, this resource is for you!
Through a partnership between the SFU Surrey - TD Community Engagement Centre, SFU's Faculty of Education and the Surrey School District with funding through CIRA's Community Investment Program, we developed and implemented the Empower MEdia program in Surrey between January-June 2023, and created a Curriculum Package to share our program plans, materials and learnings.
