“Some of the best years of my life were at SFU. My time here inspired a complete career transformation: from working as a personal trainer to earning an Executive MBA and starting my own business. I want to advocate for lifelong learning and show others how education can help you achieve the life you want.”

Anjulie Latta (BSc ’01, EMBA ’22) first earned a BSc in Kinesiology with a Certificate in Health and Fitness Studies from SFU. Years later, she returned to complete an Executive MBA and a Certificate in Digital Transformation Leadership.

SFU ANNOUNCES HONORARY DEGREE RECIPIENTS

SFU is proud to bestow honorary degrees on nine outstanding individuals making lasting, transformative impacts in their respective fields and inspiring the university’s class of 2025.

APRIL 10 | THREE MINUTE THESIS (3MT) COMPETITION FINALS

Learn about cutting-edge research by SFU graduate students as they explain the breadth and impact of their graduate work in only 3 minutes—yes, 3 minutes! The winners will walk away with cash prizes.

3MT is not an exercise in trivializing or ‘dumbing-down’ research but forces students to consolidate their ideas and crystallize their research discoveries. View videos from past competitions to check out just how much can be shared in 3 minutes.

TROTTIER OBSERVATORY & SCIENCE COURTYARD TURNS 10!

Since 2014 the Trottier Observatory and Science Courtyard has been the heart of SFU Science's public outreach, hosting 30,000+ visitors through open houses, K-12 student field trips and Starry Nights.

The Trottier Observatory has operated in partnership with the Trottier Family Foundation to bring science education and astronomy to students, families, and the general public.

The Alumni team is working on events in the following locations: Quebec City, Silicon Valley, the Okanagan and more. Event details will be available soon.
