You can update your contact information online here.
You can also update your contact information through the goSFU portal by simply signing in with your credentials and navigate to ‘Personal Information’ section. If you need assistance with access, please contact IT Services.
Can I get another alumnus’ contact information?
Our alumni rely on us to collect, maintain, and safeguard information that allow us to serve them best. To protect the privacy of our alumni, we will not share personal contact information without explicit consent. However, you can connect with fellow alumni through our LinkedIn group and at various alumni events worldwide.
Transcripts & degrees
How do I obtain a copy of my transcript?
Transcripts can be requested online, in person, or by fax and mail. More details on the process and any associated fees for transcript requests, visit the Registrar’s webpage.
ONLINE (for Official and Unofficial Transcripts): Alumni with a Computing ID can access the online Official Request Page through goSFU using your credentials. Alumni without a Computing ID will be required to activate a Computing ID first.
IN PERSON: You can request a transcript in person at the Registrar and Information Services counter at any of the three campuses. Photo identification is required to order and pick up your transcripts.
BY FAX AND MAIL: You can also request a transcript by completing the Official Transcript Application (PDF). You need to include your student number and sign the request form for the Registrar and Information Services to process the order. If you do not remember your student number, go here.
How can I verify my degree?
Simon Fraser University has partnered with AuraData, a Canadian company specializing in secure online education verification. This partnership streamlines the process companies or academic institutions use to verify academic credentials. Visit the Registrar’s webpage for information on degree verification.
I’ve legally changed my name and want to update my credential document. How do I do that?
To update your credential documents after a legal name change, please use the Student Name Change Application (PDF) and submit to urecords@sfu.ca. Please visit the SFU Registrar’s Office webpage for details on changing your name.
My credential documents got lost or damage, can I order a new one?
Yes, you can order replacement credential documents through the SFU Registrar’s Office. More details on the process and any associated fees, visit the Registrar’s webpage.
Email & wi-fi
How do I access wi-fi on campus?
Alumni can access wi-fi on any of the three campuses (Burnaby, Surrey, and Vancouver) by connecting to the ‘SFUNET-SECURE’ network. Use your login credentials to sign in. For detailed instructions, visit the IT Services website.
Why can’t I access my SFU Outlook account?
SFU Mail storage Outlook accounts are only for current students at SFU. If you haven’t taken classes for over a year, your SFU Mail storage Outlook account is expired and no longer accessible. After this period, as an alumnus of SFU, you can only use your login credentials to sign in to goSFU and access alumni benefits on campus. If you have believe you should still have access or need further assistance, please contact IT Services.

How can I find out about upcoming alumni events?
Upcoming alumni events are listed on the SFU Alumni website and are also announced through newsletters, email communication, and our social media channels. While we generally do not promote individual publication, we encourage our alumni authors and publishers to submit their works to SFU's Celebration of Authors. How do I unsubscribe from Alumni communications?
You can manage your subscription to alumni email communication by emailing alumni@sfu.ca. Please be aware that regardless of your preferences of alumni email communication, you will still receive emails from SFU and SFU’s Alumni Relations Office about general news, events, and initiated.

How do I access the library?
As an alumnus, you have limited access to the SFU online library resources and use workstations by signing in with your login credentials. You can use your SFU ID card to borrow books at any of the three campuses libraries. For more information, visit the SFU Library website.
Do I have access to any special rates or discounts for things?
Yes! As an alumnus, you have access to preferred rates from our affinity partners: BMO Mastercard, Manulife and TD Insurance. You can view your options here
Other discounts for alumni include Vancouver Whitecaps FC games and some PNE/Playland events. Learn more
