French education
The more than 35,000 students currently enrolled
in French immersion in British Columbia will now be able to pursue higher education in French in BC thanks to a unique bachelor of arts program to be delivered primarily in French.

The program, to be coordinated through SFU’s new Office of Francophone and Francophile Affairs, will increase the number of qualified French immersion teachers in Canada, and equip people to work in bilingual environments such as the public service.
