We would like to congratulate Zack Gilkison on his successful MA Thesis Defence on July 23, 2020. Gilkison’s thesis, entitled ““How What Was Said Was Said: Quotation in Hul’q’umi’num’ Narrative Performance”, was passed as submitted, requiring no further revisions. This is the highest of four possible outcomes for a thesis defence and is an exceptional result.

Gilkison joined the department as an MA student in September 2016, working under Dr. Nancy Hedberg and Dr. Donna Gerdts. In Fall 2020, Gilkison will continue his studies in the department in the PhD program.
