My project evolved from having a topic, then collect data to trying to find data, then think about what kind of spatial analysis can be done based on the available data. The change may not be a bad thing since adding new values to available data set in data mining is a growing area. The disadvantage of this approach is that you may not have a concrete goal at the beginning; it is constantly changing and you may lose focus.
The data sets used in my project are in "Africa" folder in S: drive in the gis lab.
