Description

Sleeping Star is a therapeutic blanket that weens children off night lights. Studies show that weighted blankets can improve sleep patterns by reducing anxiety and insomnia. The star in the center is created with water, red/orange LEDS, plastic tubes and fibre optics which allows it to illuminate the room with a warm and defused appearance.

Red is the only colour in the spectrum that effects melatonin in the brain, helping improve the quality of sleep in humans. By having sensors in the blanket the child can activate the blanket by sitting up. Once the child lays back down a fifteen minute timer begins causing the LEDs to slowly fade out as they fall asleep. This prevents the child from waking up from the light while still feeling safe at night.
