Summer Fun at the 2023 Summer Social

SFU’s Vancouver campus hosted its second annual Summer Social event on July 19, bringing students, staff, and faculty together for a fun-filled lunch hour of games and tasty treats!

We were thrilled to see so many members of the SFU community lining up in the Teck Gallery at Harbour Centre for one of Johnny’s Pops’ delicious, artisanal popsicles, including flavours like creamy strawberry lemonade, blackberry cheesecake, Vietnamese coffee, raspberry coconut, and more! Johnny’s Pops was such a hit at the 2022 Summer Social, that we brought them back again this year. The popsicles were the perfect treat on a hot summer day.

It was great to see so many students and staff taking their refreshing treats into the Games Lounge to enjoy while partaking in Giant Chess, ping pong, and board games! Events like the Summer Social and Games Lounge are meant to bring SFU Vancouver students, staff, and faculty together for some fun and provide opportunities to connect outside of the classroom or office. These events highlight our vibrant and diverse campus community while fostering welcoming and inclusive spaces for all.
