About the Lunch 'n' Learn:
Date: Thursday, April 29
Time: 12:00 - 1:00pm
Location: Online via Zoom
Part two of our special Lunch ‘n’ Learn series on the future of the downtown waterfront is coming up! We’ll welcome guest speakers, Dr. Hedy Fry, Member of Parliament, Vancouver Centre; Lance Berelowitz, award-winning planner, urban design consultant, author; Mary Pynenburg, consultant, former director of planning, Kelowna and New Westminster; and Derek Lee, urban planner, international landscape architect consultant. Join us as we continue this important conversation and further explore the possibilities for the central waterfront area.
This second session will further explore the possibilities for the central waterfront area. How can the potential for this crucially important area be realized? How might the various stakeholders involved plan together to redevelop this area to benefit everyone? What urban planning lessons can we learn from other cities around the world? What should the guiding principles be for the redevelopment of Vancouver’s central waterfront area? Please join us and our expert guests as we continue the dialogue.
Session one on April 15 raised the profile and awareness of the array of opportunities for the area: future transit needs for the City/Region, the role of the historic Waterfront Station, cultural and educational opportunities, walking/biking, public space, tourism, and office and commercial business.
Missed session one on Apr. 15? No problem! Watch the recording here.
