Ineligible programs
Not all programs are eligible for government financial assistance (student loans and grants). Program eligibility is outlined in the current StudentAid BC Policy Manual. We compare SFU’s programs to StudentAid BC’s policies to determine which programs meet their eligibility requirements.
Programs ineligible for StudentAid BC and/or Canada Student Financial Assistance Program funding may have been deisgned in the following manner: ineligible programs do not lead to a formal credential issued by SFU, may be delivered on a part-time basis without a 100% full-time equivalent, be an executive programs that are designed specifically to meet the needs of full-time members of the labour force, be considered professional development, or be offered through Continuing Studies, etc.). Please note, if your program is ineligible for student loan funding, it is also ineligible for in-study, payment-free status and you may want to explore the Repayment Assistance Program if you have previously issued Canadian student loans.
