Project with Haolun Shi
Enhancing Multinomial Logit Model Performance through Integration with Deep Learning Neural Networks
The primary objective of this initiative is to develop an open educational resource tailored for an introductory data science course in social science, utilizing R markdown and bookdown. Specifically, our aim is to create a comprehensive, freely accessible online textbook for the laboratory component of this course. This resource will be available on the web, ensuring accessibility for past, current, and future students.
This project presents a valuable opportunity for the participating student to deepen their understanding of the most popular machine learning methods, encompassing both supervised and unsupervised learning techniques. Beyond technical learning, the student will also have the chance to enhance their programming skills and cultivate a variety of transferable skills. These include critical thinking, problem-solving, and writing skills, all of which are essential in both academic and professional settings.
