Exploring the Flipped Classroom in an Introductory Statistics Course
This project focuses on teaching and learning research in post-secondary Statistics courses. The student will research effective methods for flipping an introductory Statistics classroom, and will propose or design methods for future classroom "flipping". The project will involve becoming familiar with the current educational research in Statistics and related fields, and proposing ideas for how these might be applied to statistics courses in the future. As well, a current flipped classroom, occurring during Summer 2022, will provide an opportunity to design and potentially analyze some data pertaining to this setting.
Students should note that this opportunity is more of a research project on teaching and learning methods that are effective in Statistics, rather than a data-heavy statistical consulting project.
