“Travel Insurance and Extended Health Benefits”

Topic:  Travel Insurance and Extended Health Benefits: Blue Cross, Medoc-Johnson, and others and an attractive new option offered by the Retired Teachers of Ontario and available to members of the SFURA through its membership in CURAC. 

Presenters:  Jay Burr and Jim Boyd.  Both presenters have had many years of involvement with the SFURA and are currently serving on the SFURA executive, Jim as Past-President and Jay as Treasurer.

Date: Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 12 noon.

Place:  Room 114, Halpern Centre, Burnaby Campus

Details:  Jim and Jay recently investigated the costs and benefits of a variety of travel insurance and extended health insurance plans for retirees.  They wrote up their findings in two articles published in our Spring 2019 Newsletter.  Today’s presentation will allow them to describe the plans further and to respond to individual questions.  This is a topic on which the SFURA executive has received many requests for information in the past. Attendees are encouraged to read the articles in advance so they may consider these alternative plans in the light of their own situation.
