We are now receiving more submissions than ever, and appreciate writers’ efforts and enthusiasm. These guidelines are simple aids that respond to questions about submissions and make your work just a little easier.

1. ‘Simon Says’ is primarily for, by and about the SFU Retirees Association.

2. We publish original articles, poems, drawings, paintings and photographs to highlight and make known retirees’ recent research, experience, thoughts, opinions, particular talents and musings.

3. Our policy is to publish material specifically produced for ‘Simon Says'. We prefer not to publish previously published work, but in particular situations of relevance and considerable interest to SFU retirees, we will make exceptions on an as-needed basis.

4. We use Canadian english.

5. We publish work that speaks to 1,300 retirees about what is going on with them. we encourage questions and feedback in a variety of forms, from letters to the editor, to rejoinders and reactions to and commentary on articles.

6. We prefer, that images, including graphs and photographs, be submitted as separate files and not embedded in word documents. (a note may be added to suggest where an image might be placed.)

7. All submissions will be attributed.

8. The editor and production editor, are appointed by and accountable to the SFURA executive. they are responsible for all content, layout and printing.

9. The editor and production and design editor discuss and agree on all aspects of the newsletter’s content and production. as needed, they communicate with contributors.

10. We produce a limited number of printed copies for distribution to campus faculties and to requesting contributors. additional print copies are mailed out on request. two copies are kept in the SFURA offices

11. The newsletter is publicly available as an online publication via our website  https://www.sfu.ca/retirees/newsletters/. Our online newsletter is publicized to other universities via CURAC/ARUCC
