SFU Contemporary Arts Tour at SFU Woodwards & Lunch

February 16, 2011

Time: 11:00AM–1:30PM

SFU's School for Contemporary Arts relocated in September 2010 to the new SFU Woodward's Campus. This consists of a six-floor 120,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility that includes a flexible theatre, a world art studio, a cinema, two studio theatres, and a gallery. The SFU building also includes various teaching studios, a multimedia centre, and a sound stage.

Owen Underhill, Director of the SCA, has very kindly agreed to host a tour of the Woodward's campus for members of the SFU Retirees' Assocation. This is a great opportunity to get to see the inner workings of our wonderful new facility.

The day is shaping up as follows:

11:00 am Meet at steps leading to SFU Woodwards entrance (nominally 149 W. Hastings, but the steps are actually located at Cordoba St entrance near the intersection with Cambie St.)

11:00 -- 12:30 Tour of SFU Woodward's

12:30 -- 12:45 Walk (approx 2 blocks), or otherwise navigate, to Irish Heather Pub--212 Carrall St (near Powell)

12:45 -- 2:30 Lunch at Irish Heather Pub

For those of you considering public transportation, you might use Sky train, exiting at either the Stadium-Chinatown or Waterfront Stations.
