An Afternoon at the Vancouver Playhouse

Time: 2:00PM–4:00PM

On September 25, 2010, the Playhouse (at Dunsmuir and Hamilton) is putting on a free Open House to celebrate the launch of the 2010/11 season and to show off its new Recital Hall which will be used for readings and small productions.

Max Reimer, Artistic Managing Director, will host the event which runs from 2 to 4 pm. The Open House will include design displays throughout the lobby, backstage tours, and a short performance (not to be confused with the full performance at 4:00pm) from David Mamet's play, "A Life in the Theatre."

Following the Open House, at 4 pm there will be a free full performance (90 minutes) of "A Life in the Theatre," starring Ryan Bell and David Bloom, in the Recital Hall.

Schedule for SFURA members:

2:00pm Sign up for the 4 pm performance of "A Life in the Theatre" (for those who wish to see the full performance). Seating is limited to about 80 people and will be allocated on a first-signed-up, first-served basis.
2:00-2:30pm Gather as a group and view lobby displays
2:35-3:15pm Guided tour, limited to SFURA members
3:15-4:00pm Socialize over coffee, tea and dainties in the lobby
4:00-5:30pm Performance of "A Life in the Theatre" for those signed up

Preregistration: Please inform Tom O'shea by email by Tuesday, September 21st if you would like to attend so he can advise Marla Norrad at the Playhouse of numbers for the guided tour.
