About 40 per cent of Vancouver's water supply comes from the Capilano Watershed (the 3½ mile lake behind the Cleveland Dam – North Vancouver). To safeguard the drinking water, this pristine area is off limits to the general public. However, during the summer months only, public bus tours are available.

Proviso:  You may recall that last year's tour had to be cancelled because of the extreme fire hazard. This tour, too, will depend on the condition of the forest. So far, so good ...

The booking office tells us that many elderly seniors have taken, and enjoyed, this tour. We will be traveling on logging roads through an undeveloped wilderness area. The ride will be bumpy. There will be about six 20-minute stops at points of especial interest. What walking is involved is easy, short, distances on level ground. There are primitive toilets (pit or portable) at each of the stops. The bus is a yellow school bus and has NO onboard toilet.

Reservations: Please e-mail Bev Carlson ASAP at ♦♦♦♦@♦♦♦.♦♦♦

See you there!
