SFU's leadership in distance education took centre stage at the 2002 International eLearning Conference, which was hosted by the university's Learning and Instructional Development Centre (LIDC).
The conference the first-ever Summer Institute on eLearning in Higher Education focused on the design, delivery and management of eLearning in a post-secondary setting. The conference featured group work and case studies, as well as a number of design and development workshops delivered in LIDC's multimedia computer lab.
Building on the success of the 2002 conference, LIDC will host the second annual Summer Institute on eLearning in Higher Education in June 2003.
SFU's LIDC supports and promotes effective teaching, assists in the integration of instructional technologies, and provides media services and classroom support to the university community.
